To be blunt, Roslyn ranks in the 100th percentile of wildfire risk to homes in WA State and in the 99th percentile nationally. Our wildfire hazard potential state rank is also in the 100th percentile and 99th nationally. This is serious business, and we would like to ask you to join us in mitigating this threat.
We need your help on three fronts:
Learn about and support our forest health and wildfire mitigation work in the Cle Elum valley.
Harden your home by cleaning up your yard, cutting your grass, removing dilapidated structures, and eliminating areas where embers can land and ignite.
Make a plan. Know what you will do when fire comes.

When a fire threatens Roslyn evacuation orders may be issued. This is where your plan comes into play.
There are three levels of evacuation:
Level 1: Ready: There is a fire in your area and you may be asked to leave.
Level 2: Set: You should be ready to leave on a moments notice.
Level 3: Go Now: Leave immediately. Do not delay.
In the event of an evacuation law enforcement will attempt to go door to door notifying residents. However, this is not guaranteed. You should be signed up for Kittitas County Emergency Management notifications. Sign up here: https://member.everbridge.net/337829242601599/ov
Roslyn Policy: It is the policy of the City of Roslyn Fire Department to be conservative and allow plenty of time for an evacuation. Our intent is to declare an evacuation at the earliest reasonable point in an incident.

UKC Fuels in an interagency fuels program supported by Cle Elum Fire, Fire District 6 (Ronald/Lake Cle Elum), Kitttitas County Fire District 7, Roslyn Fire, and the Washington Department of Natural Resources. Founded in 2020 the crew has been working to mitigate the threat wildfire poses to Roslyn and surrounding communities by reducing fuels and conducting prescribed burn operations. UKC Fuels also offers a residential chipping program each spring and fall.
